[PoE Switch] Specifications

Connecting Plugzio Wi-Fi extenders to cellular modems

Updated yesterday

Using PoE switches, you can expand your already existing network, or install inline with Plugzio cellular to Wi-Fi modem and extender.

For Ethernet cables (Cat 5/6) running to the Plugzio Extender or Modem, it is advisable to use a Plugzio switch as a booster if the cable length exceeds 150 feet.

The PoE injector of the Plugzio Wi-Fi Extender or Cellular Modem must be installed directly in line with the Extender or Modem. So if you are installing a Wi-Fi extender with a switch, here is the installation pattern:

Internet ⟶ Switch⟶ PoE Injector (Optional) ⟶ Extender/Modem

Note: PoE Injector can be used as a ethernet cable extension if installation is above 100m (328 ft).

The Plugzio PoE switch conforms to IEEE802.3af/at PoE standards, the 5-port gigabit PoE switch transmits data and DC power on a single LAN cable.

  • 5x 1000Mbps Gigabit RJ45 ports

  • With 4x PoE(+) ports and 1x uplink port

  • IEEE802.3af/at PoE standards, input 52VDC

  • Unmanaged PoE switch, plug-and-play

PoE Switch Interfaces Ports and Functions with Booster

PThe Power over Ethernet PoE switch is equipped with a high-performance network IC and a reliable PoE chip compliant with the 802.3af/at standards. It automatically adapts to 10/100 or 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet speeds, ensuring seamless connectivity and efficient data transfer.

Comes with palm size and fanless design, the PoE switch is completely noise-free when mounting on a wall or used on a desktop.

Operating Modes of the PoE Switch

The PoE switch has three selectable modes:

  • Normal Mode – The default standard mode for typical operation. The PoE switch transmits data and power through all PoE LAN ports.

  • Booster Mode – Extends the distance at which power can be carried over the LAN cable. This may lead to minor data packet loss. Applicable when sending only DC power without Ethernet to connected devices.

  • VLAN Mode – Disables data communication through PoE LAN Ports 1-4, blocking internal traffic routing. This isolates connected devices from the network. Avoid enabling if your Outdoor Router links to the internet through one of these PoE ports.

Included in the Box

  • Power supply with power cord (110-264V 47-63Hz)

  • Switch
