How do I search for drugs in Plumb’s?

Plumb’s is powered by a powerful keyword search, which you'll find on most pages in the app or from your browser. Whether you're looking for drug information or diagnosis and treatment information, search is the fastest and easiest way to access content, and it's right at the top of your home screen.

You can search by a drug's generic name (eg, misoprostol) or trade name (eg, Cytotec®). If you’re unsure of the spelling, you can just type the first or last few letters (eg, miso, stal, ctyot). Plumb's will automatically suggest results once you've entered 3 or more characters.

If you're subscribed to Plumb's Pro, you can also search by disease, condition, or clinical sign to find helpful information for case workup and client education.

Here’s a quick guide to search, depending on the device you’re using.

Browser on Desktop/Phone/Tablet

Depending on your screen size, you'll either see the search bar across the top of the page (narrow screens like phones and tablets in portrait view) or at the top of the sidebar (wide screens like laptops and tablets in landscape view).

Start typing your query into the search field. To narrow your search by feature type, click on any of the filters (eg, Drugs, Handouts, Dx & Tx) at the top of the search results.

This search bar appears on every page of the web platform and functions the same way.

Tablet/Phone App

In the iOS or Android app, you'll see the search bar at the top of your home screen and on each content page (eg, Drug Monographs, Dx & Tx).

For quick results, simply tap the search bar and start typing the first few letters of a drug name, disease, or condition.

Don’t see what you need immediately? Continue typing to narrow your results—no need to scroll through a long list of content.
