Our team has been hard at work developing the most advanced Plumb’s yet. It’s built with the latest technology and a slate of new features and functionality, so you can rely on a faster, cleaner, and more powerful digital drug reference.

The new Plumb’s sports a fresh look and a whole lot more: a first-of-its-kind drug interaction checker, faster search from any page, new ways to save your notes, and updated content you won’t want to miss. And better yet, it’s all included in your subscription.

In short, it’s a better way to find up-to-date drug information and make informed decisions for your patients—in the practice or on the go.

As of May 19, 2021, the new Plumb’s is ready to use. If you’re already subscribed, visit the new website and sign in with your email address and password. You’ll also want to download the all-new app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.

We’re making big changes, but it’s still the Plumb’s you love: fast, easy to use, and accurate, helping you quickly make decisions at the point of care.

Here’s what you can do with the new platform.

With partial word search and enhanced navigation, it’s even easier to find the information you need. Can’t recall the spelling of a drug or trade name? The new search fills in the blanks, so you can find results with just a few letters. Looking for ACE inhibitors, for example? Start typing “pril” and Plumb’s will automatically offer accurate results.

Introducing the first-of-its-kind drug interaction checker: a robust, easy-to-use tool that lets you enter two or more drugs to check for potential drug-to-drug interactions—from minor additive effects to major absorption concerns.

Interactions are assigned a color-coded risk classification and include animal-specific explanations based on current evidence, so you and your team can make informed decisions for your patients.

This new tool currently covers more than 25,000 potential drug interactions and is continually updated with new data.

Armed with your feedback, we’ve designed the new Plumb’s with an enhanced look and a sleek, intuitive interface. The new platform features simplified navigation, increased spacing for ease of reading, and simple icons and color-coded labels that make it even easier to find what you’re looking for.

Plus, no more scrolling to the top of the drug monograph to navigate the sections. The new table of contents scrolls with you and can take you anywhere with a click.

The new Plumb’s comes with brand new drug monographs—including the new emetic ropinirole—as well as updates to dozens of others.

Every piece of new information has been through several rounds of review and revision by veterinary specialists, veterinary pharmacists, and practicing veterinarians, so you can be confident that you’re getting the most relevant, up-to-date information available.

Like saving notes in Plumb’s? You’ll love this update. Now you can pin your helpful reminders to specific sections in any drug monograph. Have a preferred pharmacy? Pin a note. Need to remember a specialist’s referral preferences? Pin a note! All your notes are saved on your home page and under the Notes tab in the app for easy access at any time.

Speaking of the app… we continually improving that platform as well. The power of the desktop platform can go with you wherevery you're at. Search drugs, check for drug interactions, do conversion calculations and even email medication gues from your iPhone or Android device.

The latest changes (as of July 2022) to the mobile app include: streamlining search results so more content displays with less clutter; new shortcuts for the drug interaction checker; a conversion calculator that slides over the drug monographs so you can avoid flipping back and forth between screens; favorites accessible from the home screen; less scrolling; and an increased and easier-to-read text size.

Overall, we’ve refreshed the app based on feedback from you, our subscribers. These enhancements have been through countless rounds of internal review as well as user testing with veterinarians who depend on Plumb’s in their practices. It’s designed to be easy to use from day one—whatever your workflow.
