You shouldn't need to start calculating square footage to get your foot in the door - our simple sizing guide does the heavy lifting for you.

Our facilities often have hundreds of individual storage units with a range of sizes to choose from. To help navigate this we break our sizing down into five categories - Extra Small, Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large.

So the first thing to do is figure out roughly speaking what size unit you need according to what you would like to store.

Once you have figured out the category of unit, you can simply choose the exact unit and size that you want, according to your individual needs.

Here is a breakdown of the size categories:

Extra Small (XS)

Our XS units are sized from 10 to 50 square feet. How big is this in practice?

  • 10 sq. ft. (like a small locker) – Great for suitcases, archive boxes, or a few small personal items.

  • 25 sq. ft. (similar to a telephone box) – Fits a few boxes, small furniture, or sports equipment.

  • 35 sq. ft. (about the size of a garden shed) – Can store a small room’s worth of items, including a chest of drawers, boxes, and a mattress.

Small (S)

Our Small units range from 50 to 100 square feet. This works out as…

  • 50 sq. ft. (about the size of a walk-in wardrobe) – Fits a one-bedroom flat’s contents, including a bed, sofa, dining table, and multiple boxes.

  • 75 sq. ft. (similar to half a garage) – Can store the contents of a small two-bedroom home, including beds, wardrobes, white goods, and plenty of boxes.

Medium (M)

Our medium sized units are range from 100 to 200 square feet. This means:

  • 100 sq. ft. (about the size of a standard garage) – Suitable for a two-bedroom home or flat, with room for large furniture, appliances, and even bikes or garden equipment.

  • 125 sq. ft. (like a large single garage) – Suitable for a three-bedroom home, with space for sofas, wardrobes, beds, white goods, and extra storage boxes.

  • 150 sq. ft. (around the size of a double garage) – Ideal for a four-bedroom home, with space for bulky furniture, garden tools, and business stock.

Large (L)

Our large units are from 200 to 500 square feet. We find it's helpful to think about this like...

  • 200 sq. ft. (about the size of a small lorry’s load space) – Perfect for a large family home or a business needing extensive storage, fitting everything from multiple beds and sofas to office furniture and stock.

  • 250 sq. ft. (similar to a large double garage) – Suitable for a five-bedroom home, office relocations, or large-scale business storage.

  • 300 sq. ft. (the size of a triple garage) – Ideal for storing furniture and stock from a large house or business, including shelving, machinery, and bulk items.

  • 400 sq. ft. (like a small warehouse space) – Can accommodate a full home relocation, business stock, office furniture, or large vehicles.

Extra Large (XL)

Our XL units are a whopping 500 square foot or more. We think of them like this..

  • 500 sq. ft. (half a tennis court!) – Perfect for large-scale business inventory, warehouse overflow, or a full five-bedroom house, including bulky furniture and equipment.

  • 600 sq. ft. (roughly the size of a small industrial unit) – Suitable for multiple households, large office relocations, or business stock, including racking and shelving.

  • 750 sq. ft. (like a large warehouse bay) – Can store large-scale commercial inventory, pallets of goods, or multiple vehicles.

  • 1,000 sq. ft. (about four standard garages combined!) – Ideal for businesses needing significant storage, full retail stock, or even vehicles, machinery, and heavy-duty equipment
