We have been testing a new, advanced route optimization algorithm for about a year. We are ready to make it the default route optimization service. The new, advanced route optimizer gives more efficient routes and gives you the option to optimize up to 1,000 jobs at a time.

Some changes you will see:

  • We are moving the "Default Optimization" to the second option in the Optimization Service dropdown and renaming it to "Standard", so it will still be available as a backup to the the Advanced route optimization service.

  • We are moving the "Optimization 2.0 [Beta]" to the first option in the Optimization Service dropdown and renaming it to "Advanced [New]".

You can watch a video with some of the changes below.

When using the "Advanced [New]" optimizer, you can optimize from

  • Technician's Address

  • Office's Address

  • A Specific Job

  • Or from the Farthest Job

If you optimize from the tech or office address, the system will optimize from the closest job to your starting point to the farthest job by default.

If you want to optimize from the farthest job, you need to select "Technician's Address" or "Office's Address" from the "Drive Time Will Start At" dropdown.

If you are getting these warnings, you need to update the routing address under settings->company->summary. You will need to optimize the technician address by going to employees->the technician's profile
