Our route map will give you the ability to see all of your jobs due within a selected date range, bulk reschedule, assign preferred techs, and build and optimize routes. This tool will help you save hours routing compared to manually mapping out your routes.
Rescheduling
You can reschedule individual and groups of jobs from the route map. If you pull up a date range and there are multiple jobs in the same area within just a few days of each other, you can grab those jobs, reschedule them, and offset their future jobs so all of the jobs show up on the same day for all future jobs.
Assigning Customers to a Preferred Tech
If you want to have the same technician do the same jobs each time, you can use our preferred tech functionality. You can bulk assign and un-assign preferred techs by selecting the jobs, hitting Actions on the top right corner, and hitting Preferred Tech. Once you have re-assigned the jobs to the new tech, the color of pins will change and match the color assigned to the tech so you can easily distinguish customers assigned to the different techs.
Routing
When you select a job or group of jobs, you will see details on the right-hand side of the screen. When you see a color at the top of the selected job and a calendar icon, that means the job is already scheduled on a route. The color will match the color of the technician. If you would like to deselect the job, click the red "X" at the top of the selected job.
Map Pins
You will notice a few colors, numbers, and icons on the map pins. Here is a breakdown of the meaning of all of them.
Numbers in the middle of the pins
The number in the middle of the pin is the date that the job is scheduled or due. If the job is assigned to a specific day and time, the number will be the date it is scheduled. If the job isn't yet assigned, the number will be the date the job is due.
You will notice that the number is colored. The color of the number has no meaning. The system is inverting the technician's assigned color to maximize the contrast between the color you selected for the tech and the date the job is scheduled.
Inside Color of the Pin
The inside color of the pin is determined by the assigned or preferred technician.
You will pick the technician's color by going to Employee's->the employee's User Profile->Technician Profile
You can pick the Route Map pin coloring configuration by going to Settings->Configuration->Routing. If you pick "Preferred", the inside color of the pin will be the customer's preferred technician. Once assigned to a route, the color will still be the preferred technician's color even if the assigned technician is different from the preferred technician. If the customer isn't assigned to a preferred tech, the pin will be the default gray color.
If you pick "Scheduled" as the coloring configuration, the inside color of the pin will be the color of the assigned technician. If the job isn't assigned to a route, the pin will be the default gray color.
Hard-Scheduled and Confirmed Jobs Icons
If jobs are hard-scheduled, you will see the triangle with the ! in the middle of it at the one o'clock position of the pin. If jobs are confirmed (meaning they have received either the the confirmation email or text), you will see a phone icon at the one o'clock position of the pin. If the job is hard-scheduled and confirmed, you will only see the phone icon.
Outside color of the pin
There is a section on the outside of the pin that is meant to give you the flexibility to color the pins in a way that will give you important information about that job at a glance. You can set this up by going to Settings->Configuration->Scheduling->and selecting the Custom Coloring Scheme for the Calendar and Route Map. After you select "Custom", scroll to the bottom of the page and set up your coloring rules.
Some examples you could use are setting up initial jobs to be green and re-services to be red. You can even use tags to indicate customers who need a call ahead and service types to color by specific services. The possibilities are endless. If you have already been using the feature, you will now see the same colors on the Route Map that you have been seeing on the Calendar.
