When tax codes change in your area, and you need to change everyone on a certain tax code to a new one.
Step 1 - Click on Settings > Company > Tax Codes.
Once you are looking at the tax codes in your office, you will want to add the new tax code.
Step 2 - Click the blue Add Tax Code button at the top right of the screen.
Step 3 - Enter the name of the new tax and description and enter the new tax rate as a decimal. For example 9% should be entered as .09
Step 4 - Click Create when finished.
Now that the new tax has been added, click on the tax you want to replace.
Step 5 - Click on the old tax and click the check box that says enabled so the check mark goes away.
Step 6 - Once the tax is no longer enabled you will see Replacement Tax code appear. Click on the drop down and select the new tax that will take the place of the old one that you are replacing.
Now all the customers that had the old tax rate, have been updated to the new tax rate.
Step 7 - Your old tax can now be deleted if you would like to delete that tax rate from the system.
