How do I edit the permissions or settings for an employee?

also, enabling technicians to see the view/add page so they can see their stops on a map

Simple. Just head to Employees, click on the employee's name and then click the setting you need to change on the menu bar that shows up on the right-hand side of the screen.

Click anywhere on the employee entry in the employee list. If you click anywhere between the arrows shown below, it will pull up the employee's profile.

You can then add a technician profile and add the technician's license numbers for the services her or she does. You can also add a sales and recruiting profile and limit what her or she has access to through the Permission table.

If your employee can't log in, it's probably because he or she doesn't have any permissions or a company role.

If you click on Permissions and it shows No Administration Privileges and you haven't created a Salesperson or Technician profile for him or her, he or she will get an error when trying to log in.

Allow Technician to see View/Add Screen

If you want your technicians to be able to see their route on the view/add page, simply go to their employee profile and add that to their list of permissions.
