This feature is in the Actions menu under send SMS form letter.
You can also send a text from the dialog box.
If you don't see a text dialog box, you will need to enable SMS for the number on file:
If you don't have any SMS form letters in the drop down menu, you will need to create some by going to settings->configuration->SMS
