Digital downloads are products that let your customers access files by downloading them directly from your site.
It’s a simple way to share and sell valuable resources like design templates, audio files, ebooks, how-to guides, and more.
What is a digital download?
A digital download product allows you to sell or share downloadable content with your audience.
A digital download can be a PDF, eBook, template, workbook, guide, audio file—or just about anything you’d like to share.
When adding content to your digital download, you can upload nearly any type of media file, like videos, audio, PDFs, or text files.
Note: Files uploaded to a digital download product aren’t streamable, so customers will need to download them to view or use the content.
Creating a digital download product
Here's how to create a digital download product:
From your home feed, click on your site name and select Admin from the dropdown menu.
From the Admin dashboard, click Products in the sidebar menu.
From the Products page, click "+ New Product".
On the product creation page, select "Download" and give your product a name.
Click Create product to create your digital download product.
Adding content to digital download products
To add files to your digital download, click Choose files and upload the files from your device or drag and drop them into the uploader.
Note: We accept file sizes up to 5GB each.
Adjusting product details
After adding content, navigate to the other tabs of your product to set up product details & image, pricing, availability settings, & more.
Files: Upload and manage your files
Details: Edit your digital download name, URL, categories, and product image.
Pricing: Set up and configure the pricing and delivery of your digital download!
Availability: Set the visibility of your digital download, a start date, and update the status.
Configuring your digital download delivery method
One you're done upload content to your digital download product, it's time to configure your product's delivery method. This will dictate how your file will be delivered to your customers.
Here's how to configure the delivery method for your digital download product:
From your digital download, navigate to the Pricing tab
Under Offer, select your preferred delivery option from the available options
Hit Save to save your changes
Available offer options for downloads are:
Free - People will be able to sign up for your product for free. With this option, you require people to set up an account to gain access.
Included with membership - All members gain access to this product upon joining your community.
Free email delivery - People can get your files emailed to them for free. It doesn't require account creation. Only available for free digital downloads.
Waitlist - People will subscribe to receive updates for your product. This won't grant access to the files and should be used if you want to collect emails before you officially launch your product.
Paid - Set up a price for your price and hide your files behind a paywall.

For paid, the checkout will collect payment information
People can log in to view the download page
You can promote upsells during checkout
Free email delivery
Requires an email address to get access
People receive an email to download all of the files
You cannot promote upsells
After customers enter their email address, the file will be delivered via email and the customer will be added to your Podia audience.
Waitlist
Collects an email address to add to a product waitlist
Does not collect payment
Does not grant product access
You cannot promote upsells
After customers enter their email address, they will be added as subscribers to your audience to be targeted for email campaigns and broadcasts in the future.
Publishing your digital download
Once you're finished setting up your digital download, hit “Publish” at the top right to make it ready to be shared with your audience.
Visitors and customers will now be able to download your product by visiting your product sales page.

Digital download products will be available to enrolled customers from the Products tab in their home feed.
Customers will see a list of all available files they can download. Clicking on each file will download it individually.
Customers can also click on Download at the top right to download all files at once. This file will be generated in a .zip format.
Downloads set as free email delivery will have their files delivered via email.
