We support www domains only, but you can set up a redirect so the naked domain forwards to your Podia site.

In this help article, you’ll learn how to configure your domain using Redirect Pizza, so that you can make both the non-www and the www versions of your site available for your users.

Redirect Pizza has a free plan and they'll provide an A record/ IP address that you can add for the redirect that will work for your Podia site.

  1. Visit https://redirect.pizza/ and enter the URLs you'd like to set up the redirect for. Here, we are looking to redirect the non-www version of your site to the www version of your site.

The setup should look like this. Make sure to replace "mydomain" with your actual domain:

  2. Proceed with creating an account with them. Confirm your email address and move to Step 3.

  3. Redirect Pizza will show you an overview of the redirects you'd like to set up.

Enter your non-www URL under Source URL and your www URL under Destination URL.

Under Redirect settings, make sure to enable the Path forwarding option. This makes sure that the paths of your pages are kept the same and redirect to their matching pages, instead of just going back to the homepage.

Once things are set up, click on Create redirect.

  4. Redirect Pizza will generate an A record you now need to add to your domain provider/registrar, just like you added a CNAME record for Podia!

Click to copy the A record generated by Redirect Pizza and add it to your domain registrar:

Adding an A record will depend on the domain registrar you are using. You can find the instructions for the most common domain registrars below, but give support a shout if you’re using any companies not listed below and we'll be happy to help!

    Godaddy
    Wix
    Hover
    Bluehost
    Squarespace
    Google Domains
    OVH

  5. Once you’re done adding the A record and enabling Path forwarding, go back to Redirect Pizza and click DNS updated!

If you’re having trouble verifying your DNS, click “Refresh DNS” to check and ensure your domain is successfully verified.

And that’s it! If you added the records correctly you just need to wait a few minutes and things should start working soon!

If you need help, please reach out with a screenshot of the generated records from Redirect Pizza and the A records you added to your domain registrar so we can verify these for you.
