Accounts can be labeled as complete or incomplete, depending on their completion status.

In this article, we'll dive deeper into what these account completion statuses mean.

Understanding account completion statuses

Podia checks if a password has been created to determine the account's completion status.

Accounts can be marked as complete or incompete based on their completion status:

  • Complete: This status is for accounts that have a password in place

  • Incomplete: This is for accounts still needing a password setup

Podia shows a warning in Incomplete audience profiles to highlight that a password hasn't been set yet.

Why are accounts marked as incomplete?

Here are a few reasons why an account might be marked as Incomplete:

  • Invited to a product but didn't finish setting up an account

  • Invited to your affiliate program but didn't complete the account setup

  • Imported into your audience but didn't finish setting up an account

  • You've set account creation to occur after checkout, and the customer left before finishing their account

  • Subscribed to emails without the intention of creating a full account

What happens when a profile is marked as incomplete?

Customers with an incomplete profile won't be able to get into their customer dashboard to see their products until they finish setting up a password for their accounts.

Subscribers who have only subscribed for emails and aren't enrolled in any products/subscription plans might be flagged as incomplete since they won't have a password associated with their profiles.

This won't prevent them from receiving your emails in any way.

You can easily trigger an "Account setup email" or send them directly to your forgot-password page.

The link to your forgot password page is yourwebsitedomain.com/forgot-password.

For example, if your website URL is university.podia.com, then your login page link would be: university.podia.com/forgot-password

Sending an "account setup" email

You can easily trigger an "Account setup confirmation" email directly from the profile page of Incomplete accounts.

  1. Navigate to the profile of an Incomplete account.

  2. Click on "..." and select Send account setup email.

And that's it! An email will be triggered prompting them to finish creating their accounts.

Filtering for Incomplete accounts

You can easily filter for Incomplete accounts directly from your Audience tab.

  1. In the sidebar menu, click on Audience.

  2. Click on Filter to get started.

  3. Select the Account filter option.

  4. Under the account filter options, select Incomplete and hit Apply.

And that's it! Podia will show all accounts with the Incomplete status.

Pro tip: You can combine filters if you need to narrow down your search.

For example, you can add the Has Product... filter if you want to filter customers of a specific product that haven't completed their account setup yet.

FAQ & Troubleshooting

My subscribers are marked as Incomplete... Will this prevent them from receiving emails?

No. If your subscribers are marked as Incomplete, this means they simply don't have a password associated with their accounts.

This won't prevent them from receiving emails or it doesn't mean they will need to set up a password to start receiving emails from you.

My customer is not receiving the account setup email... HELP!

If customers are having trouble receiving the account setup email you're triggering, try sending them to your /forgot-password page.

The link to your forgot password page is yourwebsitedomain.com/forgot-password.

For example, if your website URL is university.podia.com, then your login page link would be: university.podia.com/forgot-password
