Will the system automatically bill customers for work completed, or do I manually have to request payment each time?

MioCommerce gives you both options — you can charge customers manually or automate payments, depending on how you prefer to run your business.

Option 1: Charge Customers Manually

If you prefer full manual control, you can request or process payment for each booking yourself.

To charge a customer manually:

  1. Go to Bookings

  2. Select the booking you want to charge

  3. Under Actions, click Charge Customer

This option is ideal if:

  • You want to review each booking before charging

  • Booking timings to charge vary case by case

  • You don’t want payments to run automatically

Option 2: Automatically Charge Customers Using Payment Automation

If you’d like to save time and reduce manual work, you can enable Payment Automation powered by MioAssistant.

With Payment Automation:

  • Customers are charged automatically based on your rules

  • You choose when payments happen, such as:

    • Before the booking starts

    • After the booking ends

    • After you mark the booking complete

  • MioAssistant uses the customer’s Primary Credit or Debit Card on file to collect any outstanding balance

Requirements for Payment Automation

  • MioPay (Stripe) must be enabled

  • Each customer must have a Primary Card on file

How to Turn On Payment Automation

To enable Payment Automation in MioCommerce:

  1. From the main left-hand menu, go to Settings

  2. Select Automations

  3. Click Payments

  4. Click Set up

  5. Choose your preferred payment rules (when and how customers are charged)

  6. Click Save

That’s it — Payment Automation is now active.

How to Review Payment Automation Activity

To monitor automated charges and activity:

  1. Go to the left-hand menu

  2. Scroll to the bottom and click Automations Activity

Here, you can review:

  • Payments that were processed automatically

  • Any failed or pending automation events

  • Overall automation status
