Add & Edit Holiday
As Management and other house level employees don't have access to the employee console (as they have a higher level of access), the process for them requesting their own holiday via the Polaris Data Portal is slightly different to that of a standard employee. It's the same
Firstly, select Payroll Input > STAFF MAINTENANCE
When Staff Maintenance has loaded you will be able to see all your current list of employees.
Find the employee you wish to add holiday for (or yourself) and click the drop down arrow next to the EDIT button and select HOLIDAY from the list of modules.
When the Holiday tab is loaded this is what you will see (picture below). You will be able to see the employees' full holiday record with the CURRENT HOLIDAY YEAR SUMMARY and full list of holiday dates taken since employment commenced, along with any future dates they currently have booked.
To add a new holiday, click the ADD NEW button in the top right corner of the window.
Select the Date Range (or single day if it applies for one day only) and Session Type (Full or Half Day).
If you are adding holiday for yourself or someone on the same Privilege Level as you, the Request Status will state that the holiday must be signed off by a Higher Level User. In this case, SAVE the details and the request will be sent to your Line Manager for approval.
If you are adding holiday for an employee with a lower Privilege Level, you will be able to change the Request Status from PENDING to APPROVED before saving the changes. You can review the employees current accrual balance and holidays they have left to take by checking the Summary to the right of the screen.
If you approve the holiday, the dates will automatically be inserted onto the rota in the relevant week.
