Polaris Data features a Time & Attendance system which allows team members to clock in and out via the Employee App (iOS and Android), using Geo-Fence technology, so they can only check in to their shifts when they are on the premises.

OR

Alternatively, they can clock in via a Central Tablet on-site (Polaris One)

Find out more about how teams clock in and out using the links below;

Before the manager on duty can finalise their daily input on Polaris Data, they will be asked to check and approve all employee hours.

There are a number of key reasons and features of this process;

  • You can make ANY REQUIRED manual amendments from the Clock In/Out Processing screen, before APPROVING each employee’s hours, without the need to make any manual adjustments on other rota screens. The rota will update with the approved hours, to ensure the employee is getting paid for the correct hours.

  • This means that if an Employee tries to clock out later than instructed, this can be manually over-ridden by the Manager on Duty to ensure accuracy of ACTUAL hours worked.

  • To highlight any potential “problem” employees – we now highlight, IN RED, those employees who have neglected to Clock in OR out via the Polaris Data employee app. This allows you to address directly with employees who are not using the correct process each day.

  • Once hours have been approved for each employee, the hours will turn GREEN, making it easy to see which employees are outstanding for approval.

  • You will not be able to confirm/close the day until ALL employee hours have been checked and approved. This is to ensure the hours are updated daily to reflect a true wage cost within your reporting in Polaris Data, which will allow you more accurate running wage costs on a day-to-day and week-to-week basis.

If you don't have this function already enabled and would like to use it, please speak to your Account Manager or the Support Team, who can discuss setting this up for you.
