There are a number of different types of Absences that you can mark for a team member. For instance;

Standard Sickness (SSP if they quality)
Gov. Assisted Sick Pay (i.e. the scheme introduced for those self-isolating during COVID-19)
Unpaid/Unauthorised (i.e. unpaid holiday or unauthorised absence due to not turning up for a shift
Unavailable to work (employee is simply not able to work on the given day(s))
Compassionate Leave

To add an absence, you can either add it directly from the rota or add it from the employee's record within STAFF MAINTENANCE.

ADDING FROM THE ROTA
To add an absence from the rota, make sure you have the correct day selected, and from the DAILY or EMPLOYEE VIEW you can RIGHT CLICK on the employee's rota grid and from the menu, select MARK AS SICKNESS/ABSENCE

For STANDARD VIEW simply click the ACTIONS button and select Sickness/Absence and the START DATE you wish to apply;

Fill out the details for Absence Type and Date(s) (it will default to the selected day), then click SAVE. If you've selected for the employee to be on Sick, it will automatically check if they qualify for SSP/Gov. Assisted Sick.

To complete this from the Employee's record directly, simply navigate to their profile via PEOPLE MANAGEMENT > STAFF MAINTENANCE > EDIT

Navigate to the Sickness/Absence module, and click ADD NEW

Fill out the details as per previous step, and click SAVE.
