Monitors are automatic alerts when new results for a topic show up in the Pro platform. You can configure monitors to get info about topics, keywords, company names, or people from news, legislation, cases, tweets, press releases, speeches, debates, and more. When creating a monitor the initial results will include a 14 day look-back period. Monitors are typically used as a real-time, forward looking tool. Monitors exist within a project, you can create as many or as few monitors in a project as you’d like. To create a monitor:
1.) Click on Projects in the main navigation
2.) Select the project where you'd like to add a monitor
3.) Click the View Project button
4.) In the project you’ll see three tabs, Overview, Monitoring, and Actions, click Monitoring
5.) If this is your first monitor, click + Create Monitor, monitor settings you can configure include:
Legislature (all subscribed geographies or specific geographies)
Content types (alerts for all new information or specific information types)
6.) Enter the keywords or topics of interest you wish to receive alerts on in quotations, to look for multiple keywords or topics, separate using a comma (ex: "emissions", "global warming”)
7.) Click Create, your new monitor will appear in the project, after a few minutes you'll see content for your keywords or topics
If you’d like to add multiple monitors within the same project, click Manage Monitor, + Create Monitor and follow the same process.
Pro tip — when adding keywords to a monitor you can utilize search operators to make your queries more precise (ex: emissions -rail).
