What is the tolerance for driving above the speed limit?

At Poparide, safety is our top priority. We ask all drivers to respect the posted speed limit to ensure the safety of everyone in your car and on the road. Studies show that driving faster increases your risk of causing an accident. The extra risk just isn't worth it!

When driving from Montreal to Ottawa (200 km), going 115 km/h instead of 100 km/h only saves 15 minutes but increases risk and discomfort for passengers. Speeding doesn't significantly decrease travel time but does increase the danger.

Winter driving considerations

In winter, snow and black ice are common on Canadian highways. We strongly recommend reducing your speed by 10-20 km/h below the posted limit to lower your chances of skidding and losing control.
