How to book on a posted trip
Updated over a week ago

Booking a trip with Poparide is simple and convenient. Follow these steps to secure your ride:

1. Find a Trip

Use the search feature in the Poparide app or website to find a trip that fits your schedule. You can search by origin, destination and date to find the most suitable options.

2. Review Trip Details

Before booking, check all the trip details, including the driver’s profile, the pick-up and drop-off points, and any stops. Review the driver’s rating, preferences (e.g., music, pet-friendly, etc.), and if the trip is Instant book or requires approval from the driver.

⚡ Instant book trips are clearly indicated with a lightning icon next to the trip details.

3. Make a Booking Request or Instant Book

To secure your seat on the trip, select ‘Request to book’ or ‘Instant book’ (if available) and enter your request, message to the driver, and payment information. We’ll place a pre-authorization payment on your card, and your booking will then be sent to the driver. Depending on the booking type, the following will happen:

  • Booking request: If the driver has set the trip to require approval, your booking request will be sent to them for review. The driver has the option to accept or decline your request. If accepted, your seat is secured and your payment will be processed.

  • Instant book: If the driver has enabled Instant book, your seat will be automatically confirmed without needing the driver’s approval, and your payment will be processed immediately.

4. Payment Captured

Once your booking is confirmed (either after driver approval or through Instant book), the pre-authorized payment on your card will be captured. You’ll receive a confirmation, and you can start preparing for your trip!

5. Get Ready for the Trip

After booking, communicate with your driver through the in-app messaging system to coordinate any final details. Make sure you’re on time at the pick-up location, and enjoy your ride!
