Copy blocks and groups to reuse them on the same board or another one, or duplicate a whole board from the home page.
Copy blocks and groups
Click a group or a block.
Press Cmd + C (Mac) or Ctrl + C (Windows). A message confirms what you copied, for example Copied web content or the group's name.
Press Cmd + V or Ctrl + V on the same board, or open another board and paste there.
A single block pastes under your cursor. Groups and several blocks paste in the centre of your screen. To select several blocks first, see Multi-selecting.
To switch boards quickly, press Cmd/Ctrl + K to open the Boards Menu and search for the board.
What you can copy
Documents, videos, web content, images, audio, text and social posts
Whole groups with everything inside them
Mind maps: copying one copies a picture of it. Right-click inside the mind map editor for Copy as Image or Copy as Text.
Chats and chatbots can't be copied on their own. A chat that is copied together with other blocks pastes in empty, without its conversation history. Each pasted copy is independent: changing it does not change the original.
Duplicate a whole board
Go to your Poppy home page.
Hover over the board card and click the ... menu next to the star (in list view it is at the right end of the row).
Click Duplicate.
Click Duplicate Board to confirm.
The copy appears on your home page named "your board name - Copy". It has all the blocks, groups and layout. Chat conversations are not copied, and chatbot blocks are left out.
Copy a board someone shared with you
If someone shared a board with you using a link, you can make your own copy of it.
Open the shared board link and sign in to Poppy if asked.
Look for the Public Board banner at the top right.
Click Make a copy.
Poppy opens your copy. It is saved to your own boards, in the workspace you are in (personal or a team).
Your copy is independent: changes you make do not change the original. Chat conversations are not copied.
You will see Make a copy when: the owner has set Anyone with a link to Can Edit, you are signed in, and the board is not a template. Templates use the Use Template button instead.
Don't see it? Ask the owner to set Anyone with a link to Can Edit, or to share the board as a template. A board that is not public can only be copied by its owner or members of its team.
