How you earn tokens
Most tokens come from talking with your Tolan in chats, chatting with the Oracle in the Insights tab, and completing activities together. As your Tolan gets to know you, they unlock insights about you, and claiming those insights is what pays out:
Personality insights. Every time your Tolan unlocks a new insight about you and you claim it, you earn tokens. Individual insights are small rewards, but they're by far the most common way people earn. Completing the activities in the insights tab will help you unlock new insights more quickly!
Leveling up a dimension. When one of your dimensions levels up, you earn a larger one-time reward.Leveling up your profile. Reaching a new overall profile level pays out more still.
Referring a friend. When you refer someone and they join Tolan, you both earn 1,000 tokens once the invite is accepted, one for you and one for the friend you brought in.
Note: your friend has to complete onboarding/setting up their Tolan in order to receive the tokens, just sending them the link will not give you the tokens.
You can also buy token packs directly if you want to grab something in the Shop right away. Click the Tokens and it will bring you to the options we have to purchase tokens. If you try to buy something you can't quite afford, the app will also offer to top you up on the spot.
You can always see your current balance on the left side of the Shop, or in the top-right corner of the notification bar.
Where to find everything
Open the Shop to see your token balance. It has two tabs: Clothes for clothing and accessories, Objects for environment items, and Tokens for buying more token packs. Rewards from insights and level-ups get added to your balance automatically as you earn them.
What you can spend tokens on
Tokens are spent in two places, and both pull from the same balance:
Cosmetics for your Tolan (outfits and clothing), browsable in the Clothes tab. These range from free up to several hundred tokens.
Decorations/Objects for your Tolan's planet, in the Planet tab.
When you buy something, the cost comes straight off your balance and the item is yours to keep. There's no rush, so it's fine to save up for a bigger item.
Once you have enough Tokens:
Tap on the item you’d like to purchase.
Tap the blue Buy button.
A few common questions
Do tokens expire? No. Your balance stays put until you spend it.
I earned a reward but don't see the tokens. Rewards are added when you claim them (for insights) or when the level-up lands. We’d also recommend restarting the app if you’re still not seeing an updated balance. If your balance still looks off after that, reach out and we'll take a look at your account.
Can I share tokens with a friend? Not directly, but referring a friend earns you 1,000 tokens once they join and finish onboarding/setting up their Tolan, and your friend gets 1,000 too, which is the closest thing.
