Thank you for being a valued member of the Post community and for exploring our platform. We understand that circumstances may lead you to consider deleting your Post account. You can now delete your account directly from the platform via the "Account" page of your Post settings.

How to delete on desktop:

  1. Click on the gear-shaped icon located at the bottom of the left navigation panel. This will open the Settings menu.

  2. Navigate to the "Account" page.

  3. Scroll down to the bottom of your Account settings, where you will find the option to delete your account.

Please note that upon selecting the self-deletion option, immediate action will be taken, and your account visibility and access will be terminated. However, it may take up to 30 days for your data to be completely cleared from our systems.

How to delete on mobile:

  1. Tap on your profile icon located at the lower right corner of the mobile view. This will open the side navigation menu.

  2. Proceed to "Settings", represented by the gear icon.

  3. In your Settings, locate and select the "Account" page.

  4. Within your Account settings, you will find the tool to self-delete your account.

Please note that upon selecting the self-deletion option, immediate action will be taken, and your account visibility and access will be terminated. However, it may take up to 30 days for your data to be completely cleared from our systems.

PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to reuse your email address or handle on Post immediately β€” to be able to create a new account β€” please reach out to our support team via email to process your delete, rather than using the on-platform tool. We will be able to initiate the delete process for you to free up your email or handle right away.

Additionally, if you only wish to change your handle, display name, or email associated with your current Post account, you can simply send your request to our team through our support chat or email. We are here to help you with any changes you'd like to make.

How to delete via email:

To delete or deactivate your account via email, please email support@post.news from the email associated with your Post account with either subject line:

  • DELETE if you would like all of your account information to be permanently deleted.

  • DEACTIVATE if you would like us to temporarily put your account on hold.

Please also include the following information:

  • Link to your profile:

  • Post account handle:

  • Post account email:

  • Reason for requesting to have your account deleted (OPTIONAL):

After receiving account deletion confirmation, you can expect to see the effects immediately. It may take up to 30 days for some processes to complete.

What does DELETE or DEACTIVATE do to my account?

  • ACCOUNT DELETION: Account deletion cannot be reversed. If you choose to DELETE your account, all of its data will be permanently removed from Post.

  • DEACTIVATE ACCOUNT: If you would prefer, we can also DEACTIVATE your account, putting it into a dormant state if you think you might want to come back in the future. We recommend deactivation, especially for users who are currently frustrated with some of our growing pains. While deactivated, your profile/posts may be visible to other users.

As described in GDPR and similar regulations, you can request further data removal in accordance to your right to erasure. Please send these requests to support@post.news.

If you have been disappointed with your experience on Post, please let us know what we can do better via email (support@post.news), or reach out to us on our help page. We are committed to listening to feedback from members of our Post community. We rely on your voices to help us build a really awesome, unique platform designed by ideas from our users. We know it's been rocky, but bear with us if you can, we promise it'll be worth the wait.
