POST PUBLISHER GUIDELINES

We are honored to have such a diverse and robust publisher presence on Post! In order to ensure a quality content experience for our community, we require Publishers to comply with the following Publisher Guidelines and abide by our Post Content Rules that apply to the entire Post community.

PUBLISHER REQUIREMENTS

To become a verified Publisher, you must…

  • Primarily publish content to a US audience (with some exceptions if a publisher creates ample US-related content).

  • Aim to post on a daily cadence manually or set up an ingested full text RSS feed.

  • Practice responsible reporting and maintain widely accepted professional journalistic principles.

    • Present Information Responsibly

      • Include a headline, a byline, time, and date for transparency on all published content.

      • Clearly cite sources for integrity where applicable.

      • Include photos that are clearly and directly related to the content of the article.

      • Report fairly and accurately. Present information from a secondhand news source without misrepresenting or distorting information to make an argument.

    • Regularly Correct Errors

      • Transparently acknowledge errors and publish clarifications and corrections.

    • Handle the difference between News and Opinion responsibly

      • Clearly distinguish Opinion from News.

      • News content does not cherry pick facts or stories to advance an opinion.

    • Avoid Deceptive Headlines

      • Do not publish headlines that include false information.

      • Do not significantly sensationalize.

      • Reflect what is actually in the content under the headline.

And must not:

  • Post sponsored or branded content to your Post account.

  • Be a personal blog or portfolio.

  • Repeat postings of other publications or primarily repost and redistribute others’ content.

  • Primarily promote a business, service, or nonprofit.

  • Publish factual inaccuracies or fail to adhere to widely accepted journalistic standards.

NEWS FEED ELIGIBILITY

Post reserves the right to determine whether an account should be moved in to or out of the News feed at any time. Articles in the News feed may be editorial, op-ed, or journalistic. However, blogs, profiles, and promotional content that are personal in nature should not appear in the News feed.

PUBLISHER APPLICATION

If you adhere to all of the guidelines above, we’d love to learn more about you. You can apply to be a verified Publisher here. Please note that it may take up to a few weeks to hear back.

We appreciate your adherence to our policies in order to maintain a positive experience for both users and publishers on the platform and to deliver content that aligns with the highest journalism standards.
