Steps for how to clear your Post specific cache and fix your view of Post.

Are you finding that your post screen is blank, and all that you are able to view is the header and/or you are unable to navigate anywhere and anything you click prompts an "oh no, something broke" error message?

This issue may result from accessing certain data at the same time an update goes live. You should be kicked out of this messy state the next time we release an update; however, you can immediately remedy this by clearing your Post specific cache (no need to clear it for all sites) and then doing a hard refresh of the platform. Check below for how to proceed and please contact our team if you need more assistance or if following these steps does not resolve your troubles.

Clearing your Post specific cache on different browsers and devices can be done by following these instructions:

Google Chrome (Desktop):

  1. Open Google Chrome.

  2. Go to Post.News.

  3. Right-click on the page and select "Inspect" or press Ctrl + Shift + I (Windows) or Command + Option + I (Mac) on your keyboard to open the Developer Tools.

  4. With the Developer Tools open, right-click the browser's refresh button (next to the address bar) or press and hold the refresh button.

  5. Select "Empty Cache and Hard Reload" or "Clear Cache and Reload."

Mozilla Firefox (Desktop):

  1. Open Mozilla Firefox.

  2. Go to Post.News.

  3. Right-click on the page and select "Inspect Element" or press Ctrl + Shift + I (Windows) or Command + Option + I (Mac) on your keyboard to open the Developer Tools.

  4. With the Developer Tools open, right-click the browser's refresh button (next to the address bar).

  5. Choose "Empty Cache and Hard Reload" or "Reload Hard."

Safari (Desktop):

  1. Open Safari.

  2. Go to Post.News.

  3. Click "Safari" in the menu bar at the top of the screen.

  4. Select "Preferences."

  5. Go to the "Advanced" tab.

  6. Check the option "Show Develop menu in menu bar."

  7. Close the Preferences window.

  8. Click "Develop" in the menu bar.

  9. Select "Empty Caches."

Google Chrome (Android):

  1. Open the Google Chrome app.

  2. Go to Post.News.

  3. Tap the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner.

  4. Select "Site settings" or "Settings."

  5. Scroll down and tap "Clear & reset."

  6. Tap "Clear cache."

Safari (iOS):

  1. Open the Settings app on your device.

  2. Scroll down and tap "Safari."

  3. Scroll down to find "Advanced" and tap on it.

  4. Tap "Website Data."

  5. Find Post.News and swipe it to the left.

  6. Tap "Delete" or "Remove."

Microsoft Edge (Desktop):

  1. Launch the Microsoft Edge browser on your computer.

  2. Go to Post.News.

  3. Press the "Ctrl + Shift + Delete" keys on your keyboard simultaneously. This will open the "Clear browsing data" window.

  4. In the "Clear browsing data" window, make sure the "Basic" tab is selected.

  5. Under the "Time range" drop-down menu, choose the appropriate time range. If you want to clear the cache for the entire browsing history, select "All time."

  6. Scroll down and check the box next to "Cached images and files." This will ensure that only the cached data for Post will be cleared.

  7. Finally, click on the "Clear" button to clear the cache for Post, after doing so, hit refresh again on the site.
