Post Points, or Pts for short, are credits on Post that allow you to unlock premium content, send Tips, and support creators. We believe that creators (like you!) should be rewarded for the hard work they put into making quality posts. When you unlock a post or send a Tip, 100% of the Points go directly to the user.

A Post Point is equivalent to one cent (0.01 USD) when given, received, or withdrawn.

We believe in rewarding users for their valuable contributions and original content. There are multiple ways to earn Post Points:

Paid Posts: All users have the opportunity to be a content creator and earn Points by creating "Paid Posts." Any post that contains 280 characters or more can be turned into a Paid Post. To set the price of your post, simply click on the gear icon located at the top right of the Post Composer (next to the preview button). Then, toggle on the Paid Post feature and set your desired Paywall Price in Points (pts). Now you are all set to finish creating your Paid Post, preview what it will look like in the feed, and post!

Tips from Other Users: Regardless of the length of your posts, everyone on Post has the ability to receive Points through Tips from other users. When someone tips you, 100% of the Points go directly to your Post balance, providing a meaningful way for the community to show appreciation for your content.

We encourage you to embrace your passions, share your expertise, and create engaging content that resonates with others. Whether you're sharing insightful articles, captivating stories, creative works of art, or engaging in thought-provoking discussions, your original content can earn you Points and recognition within the Post community. Start creating and let your contributions be rewarded!

Points can be purchased to quickly boost your balance for unlocking more content and supporting creators. To buy Post Points, click on the "Add Points" option on your Wallet page or any place on Post where you use Points. You'll be presented with a range of bundle sizes to choose from. Simply select the bundle that best suits your needs, proceed with the payment process, and the purchased Points will be added to your account balance.

On the Post iOS App: If you're using the Post iOS app, Points can be purchased through In-App Purchases. Apple processes your payment, and the Points you purchase will be added to your Wallet on Post. Please note that there might be a slight delay between when Apple processes your payment and when the Points appear in your balance.

On Your Browser: When purchasing Points through your browser, Stripe securely processes your payment. Once the payment is successfully completed, your Points will be added to your Wallet, ready to be used for unlocking content and tipping.

Are there discounts available for purchasing more Points? Absolutely! When purchasing larger quantities of Points, you can take advantage of discounts in the cost-per-point, giving you even more value for your purchase.

Tips are a meaningful way to show appreciation and support for content and creators on Post. When you send a Tip, you directly acknowledge the efforts of a user and encourage them to continue producing valuable content. On Post we celebrate #TipJoy; if it’s something you enjoy, #TipJoy!

Post users have found many creative ways to use Points and Tips. They've organized fundraisers, donation drives, and even hosted contests where Points are rewarded for user contributions and grand prizes. The possibilities are endless! We invite you to explore the diverse ways to use Points and make a positive impact within the Post community.

Sending a Tip to another Post user is easy. When you come across a post or profile that you enjoy, simply click on the "Tip $" icon located below every Post and on the top of every Profile. Enter the amount of Points you'd like to send as a Tip, and confirm the transaction. The Points will be transferred from your Post Balance to the user's Balance as a token of your appreciation. The user will also receive a notification about your Tip!

The number displayed next to the Tip icon under a post reflects how many times the post has been tipped, similar to the way likes, reposts, and comments are shown. The value/number of Points sent in Tips remains private between the sender/receiver and can be viewed in your Post Wallet's transaction history.

When it comes to tipping on reposts, the distribution of tips, as well as likes and comments, depends on the type of repost. Here's how it works:

Quick Reposts (Repost without Additional Content): In the case of a quick repost, where no additional content is published by the reposter, all Tips, likes, and comments are received by the original creator of the post. This ensures that the original creator is appropriately acknowledged and rewarded for their content.

Reposts with Added Content: When you view a repost that features additional original content, the Tips and post engagement (likes and comments) go towards and are received by the reposter — the user who published the repost's additional content. If you prefer to send your engagement directly to the original creator, you can click on the embedded post to open the full original post. This way, your Tips and engagement will be directed to the reposted user.

Please be mindful of the user and the content you are tipping. We recommend double-checking that you are tipping the correct user based on your intent. This ensures that your support reaches the right person and acknowledges their efforts accordingly.

If you notice that the Tip icon is grayed out on your own posts while it remains activated on other posts, there's no need to worry. This is intended behavior and simply indicates that you cannot tip yourself. Rest assured that other users will see the Tip tool enabled on your posts and profile, and they can send you Tips, which will be automatically accepted.

We strive to provide a flexible and customizable experience on Post. If you prefer to disable the ability for other accounts to tip you, our dedicated support team is here to assist you. Simply reach out to us through our support chat or email, and we'll be happy to accommodate your request. Once Tips are disabled, all users will see the Tip icon grayed out on your posts, along with a notice indicating that you do not accept Tips. You will still be able to send Tips to other users.

The amount you choose to tip is entirely up to you! We encourage Post users to use Tips as a way to express their gratitude and support for creators in a manner that feels right for them. Whether it's a small token or a more substantial amount, every Tip is a meaningful gesture that helps to motivate and empower creators. So, tip what you feel is appropriate and let your appreciation shine through!

While the majority of content on Post is free, Paid Posts offer premium content that can be unlocked with Post Points. These posts will feature a "read for x points" button. To unlock a Paid Post, simply click on this button. If you have enough Points in your Post balance, the Points will be given to the post's creator, and you'll gain immediate access to the full article. This means you can enjoy the content without any subscription paywalls or intrusive ads, providing a seamless reading experience. To keep track of your unlocked posts, you can find links to them in your Post Wallet transaction history.

The price of all Paid Posts, including ingested content, is determined by the publisher or post user, and not the Post Team. Each creator has control over setting the price for their content, ensuring a fair and individualized pricing approach. As a result, the pricing for paid posts may vary across different content and publishers on Post. We encourage you to explore and discover content from a diverse range of creators and thank you for supporting the Post Community.
