Custom blocks let you add useful content to your cart. Adding the right blocks can reduce friction and give customers more confidence before they check out.
To do this, navigate to Cart Strategies by clicking Cart from the menu, click Customize Cart, and go to the Blocks tab.
Types of blocks
Announcement
Displays a promotional message to customers in the cart.
Discount Code
Lets customers enter and apply discount codes directly in the cart, without waiting until checkout.
Order Notes
Allows customers to add notes to their order before checking out.
Progress Bar
Shows customers their progress toward a reward as their cart value grows. You can configure this two ways:
Single reward - work towards one reward
Progress rewards - a multi-step bar with two or more rewards, each with its own spend threshold
Two reward types are available:
Free Shipping - shows progress toward your free shipping threshold
Free Gift - choose a gift product where customers can claim when they hit the spending tier and are automatically discounted to free

For the free shipping reward, make sure a free shipping discount is set up in Shopify for this to work correctly. You may refer to this article on how to do this.
đĄ Tip: Use {remaining} to show how much more the customer needs to add to unlock the reward, and {productName} to show the gift item's name.
Custom Text
Adds your own text content to the cart and you can choose where it appears, such as above or below key cart sections.
Repositioning blocks
For blocks that share the same placement, you can drag and reorder them in the Cart structure section to determine how they appear in the cart. This lets you arrange multiple blocks within the same area based on your preferred layout.
