Depending on the type of Instagram account you want to schedule a Story to, the post will be made directly (like any Feed post) or through a notification sent to your mobile device with the Postcron app. Business-type accounts have the option to schedule Directly or through Notification and Personal accounts can only do so through a Notification, since the Instagram API does not allow direct publication to this type of account.

To schedule your Stories, first make sure you select one or multiple Instagram accounts and click on the Composer. Now, attach your media content by clicking on either photo (image icon) or video (film icon) and choosing a file from your device.

You’ll see a preview of your media content on the Composer. Now, select Stories as the type of post. If you have a Business account selected, at this point you can choose whether you want to publish Directly or if you want to do it through a Notification.

Finally, schedule your posts using the available options: Schedule to manually pick the date and time, Predefined Times, or Post Now. Keep in mind that Post Now is a Premium feature on Postcron!

Once it’s time to post, Postcron will send you a notification with your content. If you manage multiple Instagram accounts, make sure you switch to the right Instagram account on the Instagram App before opening the notification. That information will be available on the notification itself. If you manage just one Instagram account, just skip this step.

Now, tap on the notification, check your post and click on Continue on Instagram.

Before redirecting you to Instagram, you’ll be prompted to choose to post to the Instagram Feed, Stories, or even to send your post as a Direct Message. In this case, choose Stories.

Finally, it’s time to let your creativity flow! You will be able to edit, crop, and use all the tools available on the Instagram App. You can add filters, locations, stickers, and anything else you want… the sky (and Instagram) is the limit. Once you’re done, simply post your Story as you normally would.

If you haven’t downloaded the Postcron App yet, you can click here for Android and here for iOS.
