Posts scheduled to Instagram Personal accounts need to be published through a push notification sent to the Postcron app on your mobile device. This is due to the way Instagram’s integration with third-party Apps (API) works.

If you’re looking to post directly to Instagram you can find more information here.

With that being said, scheduling Instagram posts and pushing them through with the push notification is quite easy! First, make sure you connect your Instagram accounts to Postcron. Then, select the accounts you will be working with on the top part of the screen, and click on the Composer to create your post. Now, attach your media content by clicking on either photo (image icon) or video (film icon), as Instagram posts can’t include links or be text-only.

While you create your post, you will see a preview on the Composer and you’ll also be shown the options Story or Feed. Make sure you select the type of post you want to schedule. If you choose Story for a Business account, you will be able to choose to post Direct or via push Notification.

Finally, schedule your posts using the available options: Schedule to manually pick the date and time, Predefined Times, or Post Now. (Keep in mind that Post Now is a Premium feature on Postcron.)

For Business accounts that have chosen the Notification option or for Personal accounts, once it's time to post, Postcron will send a push notification to your phone through our mobile App. If you manage more than one Instagram account and are logged to them on your phone, before tapping on the push notification, make sure to switch to the correct account on Instagram. You'll see what account your post belongs to on the notification itself. If you only manage one Instagram account, disregard this step.

Now, it's time to tap on the notification and check your post, then click on Continue on Instagram.

Before being redirected to Instagram, you'll be prompted to choose whether you want to post to your Feed, Stories or even to send it as a Direct Message. Choose the best option for you.

Then, it's time to get creative and edit your post using all the features available on the Instagram App. You can add filters, location, GIFs, and even rich content to your posts, the sky (and Instagram) is the limit!

If you've added a caption to your post, Postcron will have it ready for you on your clipboard. You just have to paste it onto Instagram's text box. Once your post is ready to go, simply post it as you normally would.

If you haven’t downloaded the Postcron App yet, you can click here for Android and here for iOS.
