Due to the way the TikTok integration works, you need to set up the privacy settings for each post individually before scheduling or publishing your posts directly. The default settings in the Composer are determined by the options selected in the TikTok App on your mobile device. If you want to schedule posts while using TikTok’s native features like text, music, templates, filters, etc., you should choose the Notification option. You can read more about posting via notification here.
The TikTok Post Privacy section will automatically open when you add a video to the Composer; you can also access it by clicking the TikTok icon below the text box:
In this section, you’ll need to complete two settings to schedule or publish your content:
- Who can view this video: Everyone / Friends / Only me (you should choose only one option)
- Allow others to: Comment / Duet / Stitch (you can select all the options you want)
If any of these options are not available, it’s likely that in the TikTok app on your mobile device, you have selected “Only Me” for one of these three options (Comment/Stitch/Duet); or it could be that your account is set to “Private.” To enable them, go to the TikTok app and change the “Only Me” setting to “Friends” or “Everyone".
You can see how to switch your account from “Private” to “Public” here and also how to change settings in TikTok’s Help Center: Comments, Duet, and Stitch.
To see the changes made in the TikTok app reflected in the Composer, after making them, you need to Reconnect your TikTok account so your account settings get updated in our system.
