Prerequisites:
New Poursteady machine (3-cup 5-cup)
Boiler
Box cutter or scissors
Number 2 Phillips screwdriver
Internet-connected device
Access to my.poursteady.com
Main Process:
1. Unbox the Poursteady Machine
Use a box cutter or scissors to carefully cut open the packaging. Avoid cutting too deep to prevent damaging the unit.
Lift the machine out by holding the bottom of the box. Use two people if needed.
Retain all packaging in case the machine needs to be shipped later.
2. Identify and Unpack the Accessories
Locate the goodie bag. It should contain:
Tubing (insulated, drain elbow, purge)
Power supply
Wi-Fi dongle
Boiler communication wire
Tube brush
Printed manual
3. Open the Smart Side Panel
With the Barista side facing you, use a number 2 screwdriver to remove the top cap and side panel.
Remove all screws carefully. Hold the sheet metal while removing the final screw to avoid slipping.
Store the panel safely to avoid scratches.
4. Connect Tubing to the Poursteady
Insulated tubing: Feed it through the bar and connect to the machine’s designated inlet.
Drain elbow tubing: Connect to the base drain to handle excess liquid.
Purge tubing: Feed to an appropriate drain to handle system flush water.
Ensure no kinks, loops, or dips in tubing to avoid air bubbles and flow restrictions.
Trim tubing length if needed, but only trim the Poursteady end, not the boiler fitting end.
5. Check SD Card Installation
Locate the SD card slot on the internal board.
Gently press the card. If it clicks out, reinsert until flush. If already flush, no action needed.
6. Configure the Boiler (Marco Boilers)
Hold Power + Eco buttons to enter settings.
Ensure the following settings:
Set Temp: 96°C
Time Dispense, Pause, Pause Time: All set to 0
Use Power to navigate and Eco to change values.
Press Power repeatedly to cycle through and exit to save.
7. Connect Tubes to Boiler
Attach drain and purge tubes to appropriate drains (comply with local FDA codes).
Attach flow tube to the boiler outlet.
Avoid loops/dips to prevent air bubbles.
Tubes may be cut to fit bar layout.
8. Inspect All Tubing
Verify:
No kinks, loops, or compression in any tubing
Tubes are secure and free from sharp bends
Massage any rigid tubing that holds a bent shape
9. Install Power Supply and Communication Cable
Place the power supply away from heat sources (e.g., not above boiler).
Connect the small 2-pronged black communication wire to the Poursteady board.
Connect the clip-end to the boiler communication port.
10. Power On the Poursteady
Plug in the power supply. There is no on/off switch.
Watch for indicator lights:
Main board light
Technosoft board light
BeagleBone Black boot light
Wait 2–5 minutes for booting and homing sequence.
Nozzle will move back, forward, then side-to-side.
11. Run a Test Pour
Insert a filter into a Kalita or other suitable dripper.
Press the Pour button.
First pour will push air through lines (normal).
Pre-programmed rinse cycle will run.
Observe a smooth water stream and nozzle movement.
12. Reinstall the Smart Side Panel
Align the name plate and caution stickers toward the user.
Slide the panel back onto tracks.
Do not pinch wires.
Insert all screws halfway first, then tighten in a diagonal pattern for a snug fit.
Reattach the top cap and its two flat screws last.
13. Set Up Wi-Fi Connection
Log into my.poursteady.com on your device.
Select your machine by serial number.
If the light next to the machine name is gray, it is not connected.
Open available Wi-Fi networks and find
PO-PS-[serial#].Connect. A portal will appear (wait or refresh if needed).
Choose your Wi-Fi SSID and enter your Wi-Fi password (not my.poursteady.com password).
Wait for confirmation page and Poursteady button lights to blink.
Green light on dongle confirms connection.
Troubleshooting:
Wi-Fi Portal Doesn’t Load:
Wait 5–10 seconds and refresh your browser.
Try reconnecting to
PO-PS-[serial#]network.
Water Flow Is Weak or Inconsistent:
Check for air bubbles or loops in tubing.
Ensure tubing is cut properly and fitted without dips.
Boiler Not Responding to Poursteady:
Recheck communication cable connections.
Confirm boiler settings (temperature and timers) are correctly configured.
Lights Not Turning On:
Confirm power supply is plugged in securely.
Inspect power cord location—avoid heat or moisture exposure.
Escalation:
If issues persist after checking tubing, SD card, Wi-Fi, and connections
Success Confirmation:
All indicator lights (main, Technosoft, BeagleBone) are active
Machine completes Homing process
Wi-Fi status shows green in the my.poursteady.com portal
Pour button works and water flows smoothly
No visible kinks, dips, or leaks in tubing
A successful test pour completes with expected rinse and pour sequence
