Prerequisites:

  • Machine must be powered on initially

  • Access to the smart side panel (No. 2 screwdriver required)

  • Clean cloth or towel for absorbing residual water

  • Machine must be stationary and not actively brewing

  • You must have access to the Marco boiler communication cable

⚠️ Critical Warning:
Always drain and depressurize the Poursteady before any plumbing or internal hardware work. Failure to do so may result in water damage to internal components or electrical shorts.

Main Process:

1. Remove the Smart Side Panel

  • Use a No. 2 screwdriver to remove:

    • All 8 side screws

    • 2 top cap screws

  • Carefully lift off the top cap, then the side panel, and set them aside safely.

2. Disconnect the Boiler Communication Cable

  • Locate the Marco boiler communication cable on the smart side board.

  • Gently unplug the cable and move it off to the side.

3. Initiate the Drain & Depressurize Routine

  • On the Poursteady button panel, press and hold any station button for approximately 60 seconds.

    • ⚠️ If using Station 1, do not hold longer than 90 seconds—doing so may reset the machine’s Wi-Fi settings.

  • As you hold the button, the water will flow in reverse back into the boiler.

    • You should not see any water coming from the nozzle during this step.

4. Assist Draining if Needed

  • If water remains in the line, prime the station once or twice (brief presses) to help flush remaining water.

  • You may also manually manipulate the tubing (gently) to guide any trapped water toward the drain.

Final Safety Steps Before Servicing:

5. Disconnect Power

  • Once the lines are drained, unplug the Poursteady from power.

    • This prevents any active circuit from shorting in case of residual water exposure during your work.

6. Use a Cloth to Protect Electronics

  • Place a dry cloth or paper towel around tubing or connection points where you're working.

    • This helps absorb any remaining droplets and prevents damage to the main PCB or wiring.

After Repairs or Relocation:

7. Reconnect and Restore

  • Reconnect the power cable and Marco boiler communication cable

  • Reattach the side panel and top cap, securing all screws in place

  • Plug in and power on the machine

  • Allow the machine to boot and home (expect 2–3 minutes)

  • Resume brewing operations as normal

Success Confirmation:

  • No water leaks or visible drips when reconnected

  • Machine boots and homes successfully

  • Brewing functionality resumes without interruption

Escalation:

  • If water appears during boot-up after reassembly:

    • Immediately unplug the machine

    • Reopen the side panel and inspect for leaks or moisture

    • Initiate a live support session via Intercom, including:

      • A description of the repair performed

      • Confirmation that drain and power-off steps were followed

      • Any visible moisture or leak patterns
