Prerequisites:

  • Philips head screwdriver

  • Provided WiFi dongle and USB extension cable

  • Access to a smartphone, tablet, or laptop

  • Stable power outlet

  • Active WiFi network and password

  • Ensure machine is powered off and unplugged before accessing the hot side

⚠️ Important Safety Warning:
Always fully unplug the PS2 from the wall and machine before opening the hot side. Internal components carry high voltage.

Main Process:

1. Install the WiFi Dongle

  1. Unplug the machine completely, including power from both wall and unit.

  2. On the left side of the machine, use a Philips screwdriver to remove:

    • 2 screws from the top cap

    • Lift off the top cap and slide off the side panel

  3. Locate the internal USB port and:

    • Plug in the WiFi dongle via the provided USB extension cable

    • Ensure a firm connection

  4. Replace the side panel and top cap, then secure with screws.

  5. Reconnect the machine to power and flip the power switch on.

2. Allow the PS2 to Boot

  • The machine will begin its boot and homing process, which takes about 2 minutes.

  • You’ll see:

    • Screen animation or static “PS2” message

    • Nozzle movement (back/forth and side-to-side)

    • Main menu appears once boot completes

3. Confirm No WiFi Connection Yet

  • On the PS2 UI panel:

    • Navigate to SettingsNetwork

    • If it says “Please connect” and no IP is shown, proceed with connection steps

    • Dongle will have no lights if not yet connected

4. Gather Serial Number

  • On the PS2 screen, go to Machine Info and scroll down to find the Serial Number

  • Alternatively, the serial number is also labeled on the side of the machine

5. Access Captive Portal

  • On your device (iPad, smartphone, or laptop), open WiFi settings.

  • Locate and select the network that starts with PS-[serial#] (e.g., PS2405001).

  • Do not use your Point of Sale (POS) iPad or disconnect it from your POS network temporarily.

  • If prompted to “automatically join,” disable this option to avoid portal issues.

  • Once connected, a captive portal page should open, prompting for:

    • SSID (your WiFi network name)

    • Password (for your WiFi, not my.poursteady.com)

  • If the portal doesn't open:

6. Connect to WiFi

  • Select your WiFi network (e.g., P-Net)

  • Enter your WiFi password

  • Press Connect

  • Confirmation indicators:

    • Poursteady button lights will flash

    • The PS-[serial#] network disappears from your device list

    • Dongle lights will turn on

Troubleshooting:

Issue: Portal Doesn’t Open Automatically

  • Manually enter the redirect URL provided

  • Try another browser or device

  • Disable auto-connect to other networks (like POS iPads)

Issue: Dongle Has No Lights

  • Confirm the dongle is securely plugged in

  • Reboot the machine

  • Try a different USB port if available

Issue: Can’t Connect to Captive Portal

  • Disable cellular data if on mobile

  • Clear browser history and cache

  • Restart the connection process

Success Confirmation:

  1. On the PS2 UI panel:

    • Machine Info displays an IP address

    • Network Settings shows the connected WiFi SSID

  2. WiFi dongle lights (green or yellow) are faint but visible

  3. Machine is responsive and can sync with recipes via my.poursteady.com

Escalation:

  • If the machine still fails to connect after following all steps:

    • Use Intercom to report the issue

    • Include:

      • Serial number

      • Photos of the dongle placement

      • Screenshot of network screen on PS2

      • Browser/device used and any errors encountered
