Prerequisites:

  • Poursteady PS2 (powered on and connected)

  • A calibrated digital scale (set to grams)

  • A clean carafe or container for collecting water

  • Station 1 and Station 2 must be free and operational

    • One station will perform the pour

    • The other will record data during calibration

⚠️ Important Note:
This procedure uses Service Mode, which temporarily overrides standard recipes and functionality. Ensure no active brewing is scheduled before beginning.

Main Process:

1. Enter Service Mode

  1. On the PS2 UI pannel:

    • Go to SettingsMachine Info

    • Scroll down to Service Mode

  2. Tap Enable when prompted

    • You’ll now see additional configuration options under settings

2. Access Flow Meter Calibration

  1. Navigate to: Settings → FM Calibrate (not “Flow Meter”)

  2. Prepare to input values based on your scale readings

3. Prepare Your Setup

  1. Turn on your scale and zero it with your selected carafe or container.

  2. Set your scale units to grams (equivalent to mL for calibration purposes).

  3. Scroll through the recipes list and select: Tech FM Cal

  4. Ensure both pour and record stations are ready and idle.

4. Begin Calibration Sequence

You will perform 10 calibration pours and record each result.

For Each Calibration Step:

  1. Re-zero the scale

  2. Start the Tech FM Cal recipe pour

  3. Allow the full pour to drain through the filter

    • Wait until water finishes dripping before recording

  4. Enter the total grams collected into the PS2 screen

  5. Tap Save to record that pour’s value

  6. Repeat until all 10 calibration pours are complete

Completing the Process:

5. Exit Service Mode

  1. Return to: Settings → Machine Info

  2. Scroll down to Service Mode and tap Disable

  3. The machine will return to normal operation

    • Your saved recipes and configuration will reappear

Success Confirmation:

  • Flow meter calibration completes without error

  • Water volumes during brewing now match expected values within ±4%

  • The machine exits Service Mode and resumes standard operation

Escalation:

  • If calibration results vary widely between pours:

    • Check for air in the water line

    • Ensure the scale is stable and accurate

    • Repeat the calibration with consistent pour conditions

  • If flow discrepancies persist after calibration:

    • Initiate a live support session via Intercom

    • Include:

      • PS2 serial number

      • Photos of your calibration setup

      • Recorded values from the 10 calibration pours (if available)
