Calendar Terminology
Updated over 2 years ago

This article describes the terms used in the PracticeSpace's Calendar feature.

Mode

This is how you are going to conduct your session. Currently, PracticeSpace provides the following options:

  • Secure Video: This setting will allow you to add a Secure Video link to the appointment

  • In Person

  • Telephone

  • Messaging

Appointment Type

This represents a type of session along with a mode of delivery. An appointment type can have multiple durations and prices for each of those durations.

An example of an Appointment Type would be “Introductory Couple’s Therapy (secure video).” You might then also have “Introductory Couple’s Therapy (in person).” Each appointment type can have multiple sets of "Price and Duration".

Appointment

Just as it sounds. An Appointment represents a date, time, duration and price for a specific person or persons with whom you will have a session.

Manually-created Appointment

This is an appointment that you enter into the system yourself. For a manually-created appointment, you will select one of your existing Appointment Types and you can customize the exact duration and price.

Public Calendar

This is the booking calendar that is available to the public through your published website. Your public calendar only displays dates and times you’re available for a selected appointment type and duration.

Publicly Booked Appointment

This is an appointment that was booked from your Public Calendar. An appointment booked through your Public Calendar conforms to your specific Appointment Type durations and prices. Publicly Booked Appointments also respect your Calendar Preferences and Availability.

Availability

This represents periods of time during which you are available for a Publicly Booked Appointment. You can manually create Appointments regardless of any Availability you have set. Availability only affects the ability to create a Publicly Booked Appointment.

Time Off

This represents a period of time that you do not want to accept appointment bookings. This is helpful when you have set Availability for “Mondays” for example. Rather than editing the specific Availability, you can instead create Time Off. Time Off will override any Availability you may have set.
