In this article, we’ll guide you through the sandtray, including how to launch the feature and what you can expect. Whether you're familiar with PlaySpace or new to it, the sandtray offers an engaging and immersive tool for sessions.
Launching the Sandtray
To begin, click on the sandtray icon during a session. This will open the sandtray for both you and your client. Once the practitioner and client are both in the sandtray, they will both be viewing the same sandtray, which means any changes that are made are seen on both screens.
A Flexible View:
The sandtray offers great control over your view. By clicking and dragging your mouse, you can tilt the camera in any direction, making it easier to explore different angles of the scene. If you need to reset your view, the Reset Camera button on the left side of the screen will bring everything back to the default position.
Enhanced Object Interaction
One standout feature is the ability to stack objects. You can place items on top of each other to create intricate setups. For example, if you stack objects on a building and move the building, all the items on top will move along with it. However, if you move an object that’s not a building, the items on top will drop back to the ground, adding a natural element to the interaction.
Editing Tools:
You can also use Fill, Dig, Bury, Paint, and Clear options to enhance your sandtray creations. At PlaySpace, your sandtrays can become 3D models of anything that you and your clients decide to make. These commands stay active until you manually turn them off, making continuous actions, such as painting, easier. To stop the command, simply click the same button again.
Capturing the Moment
You can take a screenshot at any time by clicking the camera button at the top of the sandtray. This feature is a useful way to document and review moments during your session.
