How a playroom session looks and functions for the client

Updated over a week ago

While getting started with PlaySpace, we recommend trying both the practitioner and client experience to see how PlaySpace sessions work for both users.

This will help you understand what the client will see across the various activities you want to use such as games, storybooks, sandtray, and art.

Starting the session as a Practitioner

  • Log into your PlaySpace account

  • From the dashboard, copy the link to the session by clicking on the "Copy" button

  • Click on the "Launch Playroom" button to start a session

  • Now, you're in the session as a practitioner

Joining the session as a Client

  • Open a browser window in Private or Incognito mode

  • To join the session as a client, paste the copied video session link into the Private or Incognito browser

As the camera and microphone permissions are not carried over to Private or Incognito windows, you may need to give those permissions again.

  • Enter a name in the lobby and request to enter the session

  • In the playroom session with the practitioner account, you should receive a request to let the client into the playroom

  • Once you click "Admit", your "client" will be let into the session

Now, you can launch the Playroom and navigate across different activities to see what it looks like on the client's side!

Our recommendations

  • See how storybooks and worksheets function for you and the client

  • Try the Sandtray

  • Try some multiplayer games like tic-tac-toe or Battleship
