With PraisePal, you can give a one-off top-up of points to either:

  • Allowance: This gives your User more points to give away in recognitions

  • Earnings: A direct credit to your User's Earnings for them to redeem rewards

You can also do the reverse, and deduct points from either the Allowance or Earnings of a User.

Who can use this feature

πŸ‘‘ Available to Workspaces on the Starter Plan and above.

Some possible use cases include:

  • Having a company event with points as the prize

  • Giving points from the company to a star performer

  • Managers requesting more points to give away to their team

  • Individuals topping up cash as points to give away to their peers

  • The entire company worked overnight to fix a crisis, and the CEO wants to show appreciation for everyone's hard work.

  • And many more!

To top-up points for specific Users, you can head to the Users tab in the Admin Settings menu.

Single

Bulk

There, you can either select multiple Users to add points in bulk, or click on individual Users to add points to the selected User.

Clicking on "Add points to Allowance" will add points to a User's Allowance for them to give away in recognitions, and clicking on "Add points to Earnings" will add points to a User's Earnings for the User to redeem rewards with.

To deduct points instead, simply add a "-" sign in front of the numerical amount that you would like to deduct.

Users that get a top-up will receive an email notification telling them the amount of points that have been added. Point deductions do not trigger email notifications.

Important:

  • Points added in this way to Allowances still expire and refresh at the end of the month. We recommend doing this near the beginning of the month for Users to have more time to give away their Allowance.

  • Users cannot have negative points. Attempts to deduct a User's points below 0 will result in an error.
