We recommend that your data be specified into components (a headboard, mattress, etc.), which are linked together to a product (a bed). This requires creating a connection between the individual component and product.
How to link an existing component to a product:
Make sure you have created a component and remember the name of it. Important: A component need to be set to Live (not draft) to be linkable.
Go to your preferred product and go to the "Data" tab.
Find the attribute "Components". If its not shown under "Product Details" list, find it via the search bar in the "Attributes" section og the left.
Now you can ad materials/components. In the "Name" section search for the given component your want to link to the product. Now add Quantity and the unit.
Remember to save with the checkmark on the right.
You can now add more components and materials.
Keep ind mind: You can type in components/materials that are not created. Then they will figure as a "dummy component" on this one product. We do not recommend this. We recommend spending the extra time on creating live components to make the best long term traceability.
How to link a new component to a product:
Go to your preferred product and go to the "Data" tab.
Find the attribute "Components". If its not shown under "Product Details" list, find it via the search bar in the "Attributes" section og the left.
Now you can ad materials/components. In the "Name" section give the component a name of your choice. Now add Quantity and the unit.
Remember to save with the checkmark on the right.
You have now created a "dummy component" with no real data. To convert this into a component use the + on the right. You now land on a new page where you can add more data for the component you have created.
How to link multiple products, suppliers, components, or packaging:
Go to the Overview list of the given document (if you want to link products, go to the Product overview list).
Select the documents you want by clicking the blue check mark next to each product.
Click the green "Actions" button.
Then choose one of the following:
Assign Supplier
Attach component
Attach Packaging
Attach to Product
You can now search and select multiple documents. Press link documents to complete the linking.
