To get DocuSign up and running properly it's going to take a little bit of configuring. This guide will walk you through what steps you'll need to get a DocuSign Template set up properly to provide a frictionless signing process for your customers.

NOTE: We don't recommend using existing templates in DocuSign, as we're going to be pulling data in from Pre-Approve Me, and that could mess with the formatting, and how you use these templates elsewhere.

Step 1. Create a new DocuSign Template

Use the "Create Template" button to start a new DocuSign Template

Step 2. Upload your Document

Use the "Upload" button to upload the document you intend to use for your Template

Step 3. Configure your Placeholder Recipients List

This step is very important, using the proper codes for the Placeholder names is how Pre-Approve Me will know where to send data. Please see the chart below for examples of the Placeholder names you can use:

Here's an Example of what your Placeholder Recipients should look like:

Step 4. Configure Your Fields

This is the step where you now set up where your fields are displayed on the document you provided. On the top left you'll see a Dropdown that contains a list of the previously configure Placeholder names, use this dropdown to select the Signer that you'd like to configure fields for, you'll need to do this for each signer. Once you've selected a signer, you can click and drag the fields from the left side navbar onto the appropriate place in your document. Once you're done, your Document should look something like this:

Step 5. Save Your Template

Go ahead and hit the "Next" button in the bottom left of the page, then give your template a recognizable name by hitting the "Edit" button next to the "Template Name" on the right side of the page. If you'd like there are other customization options on this page that you can go through and configure. Once your done editing things, go ahead and hit "Save Template".

Step 6. You're Done!

Now that you have a template created, you will be able to now use it when sending Condition requests to your customer.
