Before uploading contacts to PredictaMail, it’s important to ensure your file is correctly formatted. This helps our system recognize your data accurately and avoids errors during import.
Step 1: Format Your File Correctly
To get started, you’ll need a spreadsheet that includes your contact information. You can create this file using tools like Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, or Apple Numbers.
Required Column
Email: This must be the first column in your file. Every contact needs a valid email address to be imported.
Optional Columns
You can add other properties such as:
First Name
Last Name
Phone Number
Tags
Birthday
Location
Any custom property relevant to your list
Each column should have a clear header in the first row, and each row underneath should contain the respective contact’s data.
Example format:
Email,First Name,Last Name,Subscribed
jane@example.com,Jane,Doe,true
john@example.com,John,Smith,true
Step 2: Save Your File as a CSV
PredictaMail only accepts CSV files for contact uploads. Here’s how to save your file:
Google Sheets:
File > Download > Comma-separated values (.csv)
Excel:
File > Save As > CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv)
Make sure the file extension is .csv and not .xlsx, .xls, or .ods.
Step 3: Import Your CSV into PredictaMail
Once your file is formatted and saved:
Go to Contacts > All Contacts > Import
Upload your CSV file using the upload modal
Map each column from your CSV to an existing property in PredictaMail
If a property doesn't exist yet, click Select or create new and choose Create new field
Click Import to complete the process
Best Practices & Compliance Tips
Only upload contacts who have explicitly opted in to receive emails from you
Double-check for typos, duplicate rows, or blank fields
Avoid importing outdated or irrelevant data
⚠️ Importing contacts who haven’t opted in can harm your sender reputation and email deliverability.
