EA Connectors Launching In Preo

Updates were deployed in PREO (CPQ) that impact how regions and processing connections are displayed and selected in the system. These changes align PREO with the new XBS Regional Coverage model and will be visible to both Sales and Admin users

Region Updates in the PREO User Interface

Previous Setup

Previously, PREO displayed the following regions, each with multiple cores underneath:

  • Southeast (Cores: ESI, GDP, SAX, BER, STO, CSS, ZOS)

  • Midwest (Cores: LRI, MBM, IOT, MOTG, COTG, IQ, RKD, MOS)

  • Northeast (Cores: CTG, TBT, ITS, EMPN, BEU)

  • Mid-Atlantic (Cores: SBS, CBS, COS, CARR)

  • West (Cores: CTX, QBSI, NORCAL, HAWAII, GUAM, SAIPAN, BOE, IBS, MRC-GLA, MRC-SOUTH)

  • Southwest (Cores: DAH, AOT, LEWANIT, LEWANTECH)

  • Central (Cores: COM, AMCOM)

New Setup (Aligned to XBS Regional Coverage)

The region list has been streamlined and now reflects the current XBS model:

  • West

  • Central

  • Northeast

  • Southeast

  • Inside Sales

Important: Regions will no longer contain cores. Instead, each region now contains EA Connectors.

What Is an EA Connector?

An EA Connector is essentially a link between PREO and a specific E‑Automate (EA) system where orders are processed.

The EA Connector is critical because it controls two key things:

  1. Customer & Existing MIF Data

Determines which customer records and existing MIF information pull into your proposal.

  1. Order Processing System

Determines which EA system the order is submitted to once the proposal is finalized.

What Sales Needs to Know

✅ Selecting the Correct EA Connector

  • During proposal creation, PREO will automatically default an EA Connector based on your branch (sales team).

  • In some cases, you may need to change the EA Connector depending on the customer you are quoting.

It is the responsibility of Sales to verify the EA Connector is correct before proceeding with the proposal.

🔧 When Can You Set or Change It?

  • At Proposal Creation:

You can select or update the EA Connector when creating a new proposal.

  • After Proposal Creation:

If the proposal has already been created and the EA Connector needs to be changed, contact the PREO Bot (PreoBot) for assistance.

Where can I find a Customers EA Connector?

For current customers you are able to find their EA connector in Sales Force by searching the customers name and then scrolling down in the account to ERP Source. Here you will find the EA Connector.

Who Will See This Change?

  • Sales Users – region names and EA Connector selections will look different in PREO.

  • Admin Users – updated regions and EA Connector structure will be reflected system-wide.

Key Takeaways

  • Regions have been simplified to align with XBS Regional Coverage.

  • Cores have been removed and replaced with EA Connectors.

  • EA Connectors control both data pull and order processing location.

  • Always confirm the correct EA Connector during proposal creation.

If you are unsure which EA Connector to use, reach out to PreoBot before submitting your order.
