If you need to adjust the time of a scheduled lesson, you can reschedule it from your account. This article explains when rescheduling is available, how to do it, and what happens after the change
Before you start
You can reschedule a lesson if:
There are at least 12 hours before the lesson starts.
Your tutor has available time slots.
If fewer than 12 hours remain, the reschedule option is no longer available from your side.
If the lesson has already started and something didn’t go as planned, you can report the lesson.
Reschedule a lesson
Choose the instructions that match how you use Preply.
Once scheduled, the lesson appears in My lessons (Upcoming) on desktop and in Schedule in the app. It’s also added to your calendar.
If the lesson is part of a weekly setup
If the lesson belongs to a weekly setup:
You can reschedule that specific lesson.
The lesson becomes a standalone lesson and is removed from the recurring schedule.
Future weekly lessons continue as planned.
If you want to change the recurring weekly time for all future lessons, update your weekly setup instead. See How to change or stop your weekly lesson setup.
Change the lesson duration
When rescheduling, you can adjust the lesson duration if your balance allows it.
Weekly lessons can be 25 or 50 minutes. Depending on your plan, longer weekly sessions may also be available.
Single lessons can be 25 minutes, 50 minutes, or longer sessions (for example, 1 hour 20 minutes or 1 hour 50 minutes), depending on your available lesson balance.
Trial lessons are fixed at 25 or 50 minutes and can’t be changed after booking.
One lesson equals 50 minutes. Changing the duration may use more or fewer lessons depending on the new lesson length.
What happens next
After you reschedule:
The lesson moves to the new time you selected.
Your lesson balance updates automatically based on the duration (if changed).
Your tutor is notified.
If the lesson was part of a weekly setup, it becomes a standalone lesson and is removed from the recurring schedule. Future weekly lessons continue as planned.
Good to know
If fewer than 12 hours remain, you won’t be able to reschedule the lesson yourself in the system. You can message your tutor to see if they’re able to move the lesson from their side.
If you need to change your recurring weekly time instead of a single lesson, update your weekly setup.
