In PreprLabs, Skills refer to:

They're a special kind of tag used to categorize and sort Labs, Challenges, and Resources; but they come with many more uses on the platform.

You can search by Skills on the Explore page, as well as on the listing pages for Labs, Challenges, and Resources. At the moment, this feature does not extend to Skill Stacks and Skill Groups.

Skills can be composed into larger collections, called Skill Stacks and Skill Groups. For more information, see this article.

Clicking into any Skill tag will give you a detailed view of related professions and Skills. You can also see which Labs, Challenges, and Resources utilize this Skill. This is useful for exploring what's available on the platform.

You can also use Skills for team matching purposes. When creating or editing a project, you can specify which skills you're looking for from your teammates. This will display on the Team Matching page, where prospective teammates can search by Skill and find your project.

Skills are displayed on your profile page. When you complete a Lab or Challenge that deals in a certain Skill, it moves to the Verified Skills section of your profile.

When you click on a Verified Skill in a user's profile, you can see which Labs or Challenges they completed to verify that skill.
