In some cases, after September 30th 2021, you might see a jarring error in your browser with a red lock icon and a message that says “Your connection is not private” when attempting to access app.prism.fm.

This is due to your device not having the required root certificates to establish a secure connection with our servers. More information here: https://letsencrypt.org/docs/dst-root-ca-x3-expiration-september-2021/

For most users the certificates will update automatically and should be seamless. However, in the case of some much older devices, or more commonly, devices behind a misconfigured firewall, you will need to add these certificates manually. This may affect your ability to access other websites as well.

The Fix

You will first need to download the following two certificates:

Then, open the Keychain Access app on your Mac, and select either the login or System keychain. (Login will only install for the currently logged in user)

Drag each certificate file onto the Keychain Access app.

If you’re asked to provide a name and password, type the name and password for an administrator user on this computer.

Once both certificates are added to the keychain you will need to right-click on each and select Get Info.

From here, click the arrow to open the Trust section and in the drop down for “When using this certificate” select Always Trust and close out the window and prompt for your password to make the change.

Once you do this for both certificates you can close out Keychain Access and reload your browser.
