It’s also worth considering analytical labs, water well associations, and septic installers associations in your area. These organizations may have information about local aquifers and can provide guidance on finding relevant data.
If you live in Illinois or Oklahoma, your states also have state water surveys. The Private Well Class is housed at the Illinois State Water Survey, so call 866-945-01699 or use the chat for more information. Click here for more information about the Oklahoma Water Survey.
Are there websites that can help me find out more about my aquifer?
Some states have great websites that include tools such as interactive maps that can provide a lot of data. Try searching online first and see what you can find. If there isn't a great site for your state, you will be able to find information about the agencies that can help. Call or email them and tell them you are looking for more details about your well, water levels, geology, and water quality.
Remember to be inquisitive and explore different sources to gather comprehensive information about your aquifer.
