One of the biggest changes in the new version of ProdPro Pipeline is the Home page.
Instead of a fixed layout with a few predefined tabs, your Home page is now built with widgets. Widgets let you decide what you see and how you see it, so your Pipeline reflects the information that matters most to you.
If you liked the old ProdAlert view with its three familiar production tabs, don’t worry – you can easily recreate that experience using widgets. This article will walk you through how widgets work, the difference between Standard and Custom widgets, and how to rebuild your old ProdAlert page.
What Are Widgets?
Widgets are configurable blocks that appear on your Home page. Each widget shows a live list of records – such as productions, crew, opportunities, or tasks – based on a specific set of rules.
Think of widgets as saved views that automatically stay up to date.
Widgets can be:
Added or removed at any time
Reordered on your Home page
Tailored to show exactly the data you care about
Standard Widgets
Standard Widgets are pre-built widgets that we provide out of the box. They’re designed to cover the most common use cases and require no setup.
If you want to recreate similar views from the legacy ProdAlert page, you can do that all using Standard Widgets
Examples of Standard Widgets include:
Recently Updated Productions (Activity)
Recently Published Productions (New Projects)
Bookmarked Productions
Crew I’m Following
My Tasks
My Opportunities
These widgets are a great starting point if you want quick visibility without creating filters yourself.
To add a Standard Widget:
Go to your Home page
Choose Add Widget
Select a widget from the Standard Widgets section
Custom Widgets
Custom Widgets give you full flexibility to build views that match how you work.
A Custom Widget is created from a Saved Filter.
How to Create a Custom Widget
Go to a search page (Productions, Crew, Opportunities, or Tasks)
Apply the filters you care about
Status
Dates
Locations
Ownership
Any other available criteria
Sort the table by the column of your choice (Last Updated, Publish Date, etc.)
Click Save Filter and give it a name
That’s it. Your saved filter will now be available as a Custom Widget on the Home page.
To add it:
Go to Home
Choose Add Widget
Select your saved filter from the Custom Widgets section
