Opportunity Types give your team a flexible way to categorize, organize, and filter opportunities in ProdPro Pipeline.
They function like customizable tags that can be added to opportunity records. Since each team may track opportunities differently, Opportunity Types are designed to be flexible and can be tailored to fit your workflow.
What are Opportunity Types?
Opportunity Types are custom values that can be assigned to opportunities in Pipeline.
They can be used to describe the nature of an opportunity, the type of work involved, the sales motion, the service category, the priority level, or any other internal grouping your team wants to track.
You can add more than one Opportunity Type to a single opportunity, making it easier to organize opportunities that fit into multiple categories.
How can I use Opportunity Types?
Opportunity Types are customizable, so your team can define them based on how you work.
For example, you might use Opportunity Types to track:
Service lines, such as VFX, Post Production, Soundstage, or Equipment Rental
Sales motions, such as New Business, Renewal, Upsell, or Partnership
Priority levels, such as High Priority, Warm Lead, or Long-Term Prospect
Market segments, such as Studio, Independent Film, Streaming, or International
Internal workflows, such as Needs Follow-Up, Proposal Sent, or Awaiting Intro
These are only examples. You can create values that match your team’s own pipeline process.
How to add Opportunity Types to an opportunity
When creating or editing an opportunity, use the Opportunity Type field to select one or more values.
Once added, those values will appear on the opportunity record and can be used to help your team understand, group, and prioritize opportunities at a glance.
How to filter by Opportunity Type
You can filter your opportunities by Opportunity Type from the opportunities list.
This allows you to quickly narrow your pipeline to specific categories, such as all opportunities tagged as High Priority, VFX, Renewal, or any other custom type your team has created.
Filtering by Opportunity Type can be especially useful when reviewing a specific segment of your pipeline or preparing for team check-ins.
Where to set Opportunity Type values
Your team can manage available Opportunity Type values from the My Team page.
Go to:
My Team → Opportunity Settings → Opportunity Type
From there, you can add, edit, or manage the values available to your team.
Once configured, those values will be available when creating or editing opportunities.
