Opportunities

Opportunity overview in ProdPro CRM

Written by Jeff Impey

An opportunity is a deal you're working. It carries the amount, the close

date, the stage it's at — and the production it's for, which is what

makes it keep up as the project changes.

Creating an opportunity

Create an opportunity wherever you happen to be working: from the Actions column on the Productions page, the Opportunities tab on a production, an account or company page, or the Opportunities page itself. Whichever route you take, attach a production — it is the one step worth never skipping, because the deal then follows that project as its dates, crew and status change. Everything else, including the amount and the stage, can be filled in as the conversation develops.

Create one wherever you happen to be:

  1. The Actions column on the Productions page

  2. The Opportunities tab on a production

  3. An account or company page

  4. The Opportunities page

Attach a production. It's the one step worth never skipping — the

deal then tracks that project's dates, crew and status as they change.

Finding your deals

Opportunities live in the left nav under CRM

Opportunity Filters

Open the filter panel from the funnel beside the search box. What you set appears as chips under the toolbar, so you can always see what the list is narrowed to and drop one filter without clearing the rest.

Who and what

Sales Stage · Status · Deal Owner · Created By · Opportunity Type · Show Type · Amount

When

Close Date · Shoot Date · Last Activity

Dates can be a fixed range or a relative one — next 30 days, previous 2 weeks. Relative is the one to reach for in a view you'll come back to: the window moves with today instead of freezing on the day you saved it.

Tasks

Has an overdue task · No open task · No task at all — for finding the deals that have gone quiet.

Clicking a stage name in the summary strip filters to that stage, which is quicker than opening the panel for a single stage.

List and Kanban

List — choose and rearrange the columns you want.

Kanban — see deals by stage and drag them between stages to update.

Your own stages

Rename stages, colour them, reorder them and set a percentage to close:

Account → My Team → Opportunity Settings

These apply across your team.

What the opportunity covers

Everything about a opportunity lives on its page: who you're talking to, what you're selling them, what happens next, and what's been said.

Contacts — the people on the other side. Add them from the deal, and they become connections you'll see on every production in ProdPro, not just this one.

Services — what you're selling and when each piece runs, picked from your Products & Services list rather than typed, so the names stay consistent and the amounts add up. Mark one as renewing and the date rolls up to the account, so renewals surface without anyone tracking them by hand.

Tasks — anything that needs doing next. A task shows on the deal, on the Tasks page and in the list view, and can be completed, rescheduled or reassigned from any of them.

Notes — the running history. Every note is dated and attributed, so anyone picking the deal up can see where it got to.
