The layout of the Breakdown view varies by platform. This article covers the view on the ProductionPro Web App. On the ProductionPro iPad App, you'll see a visual version of your breakdown optimized for touch - learn more about it here.

On the web, the Breakdown shows your character-scene breakdown in a table on desktop and tablet, and in a compact card layout on mobile. From the Breakdown you can jump to the Script or open a pre-filtered Media Collection.

Breakdown Information Overview

The Breakdown view consists of two connected tables: Scenes and Characters.

  • Scenes table lists all scenes in story order and shows scene number, location, title, time of day, and characters

  • Characters table lists every character by how many scenes they appear in; open the Scenes column to see where they appear.

Script Access

In the Scenes table, each scene is connected to its page in the script. Click the Script icon in the Script column to jump straight to that scene’s script page.

Media Collections

Click any scene title or character name to open a pre-filtered Media Collection for that item.

Filter & Search

On desktop/tablet (tables): Use the filter dropdowns at the top of each column to narrow what you’re seeing. For example, in Scenes, filter the Characters column to list every scene a specific character appears in. You can combine as many filters as you need.

On mobile (cards): Filter in two ways - tap the Filter button to choose filters, or type in the search bar and select filters from the results. The Filter button shows how many filters are active; tap it to view and clear them.

Export the Breakdown

Click Export to download the Scenes table as a CSV file. Exports include the full Scenes table (filters are not applied).

Edit the Breakdown

Click Edit to add, delete, or change scenes and characters. Updates are shared with all collaborators and reflected in the iPad’s visual breakdown. For step-by-step web editing, click here.
