Customizing the Invoice Timesheet Attachment

Customize the timesheet report attached to invoices.

When sending invoices to clients, you can include a timesheet attachment that shows the time entries behind the invoice. By configuring a timesheet template, you control what appears in that document.

👉 See Attaching Timesheet Reports to Invoices for instructions on sending timesheet attachments.

Customizing the Invoice Timesheet Attachment is available on the Ultimate subscription plan.

Configure a Template

Go to Settings > Invoicing and in the Timesheet Attachments section, click Configure timesheet attachment.

Choose a report to use as the base for the timesheet:

  • Use an existing report — select any previously created report with Time Entries as its data source from the dropdown.

  • Create a new report — click new report, build it in Reports with Time Entries as the data source, save it, then return here to select it.

📌 Only the current state of the report is captured. Future edits to the report won't be reflected in the timesheet attachment.

👉 Learn how to create and configure reports in Reports Overview.

Configure how the attachment will be generated:

  • Document format — PDF, CSV, or XLS

  • Orientation — Portrait or Landscape

  • Page size — A4, A3, or Letter

Expand Advanced options to include additional metadata in the document:

  • Created by — the name of the person who generated the export

  • Date created — the date the attachment was generated

  • Time period — the date range from the report's filters, if a date range is applied

  • Description — the description of the selected report, if one has been added.

  • Organization logo — your organization's logo as set in your account

  • Total count — the total number of rows in the exported report

Click Save when done.

Once the template is saved, you can attach it when sending invoices to clients.

📌 Only one timesheet template can be active at a time. You can edit the existing template or delete it and start fresh.
